With this passion for helping women succeed across the world, Liz Forkin Bohannon founded a not-for-profit company, Sseko Designs that provides employment assistance and entrepreneurial training to women in East Africa. She moved to Uganda in 2008 to assist in communication efforts for a youth development organization based in Kampala but was drawn to the idea that empowering women is the fundamental cornerstone in working towards a more just and peaceful world.

Liz now splits her time between Portland and Uganda working on projects through Sseko Designs as well as volunteering for a local fellowship program that mentors recent female graduates to assist them in their professional development.
